GHAFLA: Yellow & Grey Duo Colour Block Woven Basket

Designed exclusively by The Basket Room, the GHAFLA duo colour block baskets sport thick bands of bright yellow and slate grey – a joyful juxtaposition of colour that transcends the seasons. Available in three sizes, the GHAFLA basket makes a fabulous indoor planter or flower pot, or can be used for slippers and blankets, knitting or toys. The possibilities are endless, These baskets are handwoven by a small collective of female weavers living near the Masinga Dam in Kenya – one of seven dams on the River Tana. Their chairlady started managing basket production in 1993, and today she leads several groups with specific production roles from twisting to dyeing and weaving sisal fibres.
